Description
The Christian Church receives wondrous gifts from God apart from any worthiness of Her own. In return for His gifts of forgiveness, life, and salvation given through the Holy Word and the Sacraments, She sings thanksgiving and praise unto the God Who saved Her; She declares all the gracious works He has done through Psalms, hymns, and Spiritual songs. No finer example of this confession of faith and giving of thanks is there than the Te Deum laudamus. Salpidzo Press is delighted to present for your sake this concertato setting of the versified Te Deum text by Rev. Stephen P. Starke (whom we heartily thank for graciously allowing us to use his text).
This setting of the Te Deum is a modified version of the setting composed for Rev. Richard C. Resch and the Kantorei of Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne. That setting (for TTBB choir) can be heard on the Te Deum CD put out by the Kantorei. We at Salpidzo Press pray that this concertato setting of the Te Deum may be used by your congregation in returning thanks unto the God Who saved you – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
