Description
There are feast days when more than a simple chant or even a Triple Alleluia seems to be called for. Salpidzo Press now provides a set of Festive Alleluias for such services. Both the Handbells and Trumpet parts are optional; they work well together, along with choir, congregation, and organ, but they are not necessary.
NOTE ON THE CHANT: These may be done by a soloist, choir in unison, or choir in SATB parts. The text is to be sung with natural speech rhythms within the one large beat (half note) measure. All the text for a measure must be done in the time allotted. How the text fits rhythmically within the measure is up to the soloist or director. The organ accompaniment for the verses should be soft strings and/or flutes. If one desires the handbells may be used on the verses instead of the organ, though the organ always plays the cued notes leading into the Final Refrain.
