Unison – 2 part Choir Book – Look Inside

All music is reproducible for use by the purchaser.

Description

There are two reasons this collection of Unison and 2-Part music is published:

  1. To paraphrase (from memory) Carl Schalk, “Our children need songs to grow into, not out of.” This collection is intended to provide worthy music to sing throughout the Church Year.
  2. In our day of waning music education (and in small parishes) congregations often have a difficulty in filling out 4, or even 3, parts.

It is hoped that this collection will meet the needs of Children’s, Treble, and small choirs in our Church.

On a few of the pieces one can use either handbells or organ, depending on what forces one has at hand. OR, one may use organ for one section and handbells for another. That is up to the director.

A note on performing 2-part treble music with mixed voices (men and women): one may find that having the men sing the top part and the ladies (and unchanged voices) the bottom part may work best. Your ear and experience will reveal the best way for mixed voices to sing the 2-part music in this collection.

The editor thanks Matthew Carver and Robert Mayes for their contributions to this choir book!

May this collection be a blessing to your choirs and congregations!
